These terms govern your use of globalequity.mu. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

This website is operated by Global Equity Insurance Brokers, an insurance brokerage licensed by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under section 70 of the Insurance Act 2005. Our office is at Suite 217, Ebene Junction, Rue de La Democratie, Ebene, Mauritius. Our regulatory disclosure sets out our licensed status, how we are remunerated and the duties we owe you.

The content of this site is general information about insurance and about the services we provide. It is not advice on any particular policy, and it does not take account of your circumstances, your objectives or the terms of any cover you already hold. Insurance is a technical product and the right answer depends on facts we would need to discuss with you.

Nothing on this site is an offer to insure, and no contract of insurance is created by using it. Cover exists only when an insurer has accepted the risk and we have confirmed it to you in writing. Any quotation is subject to underwriting, and to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the policy that is finally issued.

When you send us information through this site, or in response to it, that information must be complete and accurate. Insurance rests on the information given to the insurer, and an answer that is incomplete or wrong can allow an insurer to reduce a claim, to decline it, or to treat the policy as if it had never existed. If you are unsure whether something is relevant, tell us anyway and let us judge.

We take care to keep this site accurate and current, but insurance products, market terms and the law all change. We give no warranty that the content is complete, current or free from error, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice. We do not warrant that the site will be available uninterrupted or free of defects, and we may suspend it for maintenance or for any other reason.

The text, images, layout, logo and design of this site belong to Global Equity Insurance Brokers or to our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may read the site, and print or download extracts for your own reference or to discuss our services with your advisers. You may not otherwise reproduce, republish, adapt or exploit any part of it commercially without our written permission.

Where we link to a third-party website — a regulator, a statute, an insurer — the link is provided for convenience. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data, and a link is not an endorsement.

You agree not to use this site unlawfully, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any system or network connected to it, not to introduce malicious code, not to interfere with its operation or availability, and not to extract or harvest content by automated means without our permission.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this site and in the course of our relationship with you, and our data protection notice deals with the insurance chain in more detail. Both form part of these terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this site, from reliance on its general content in place of advice, or from any unavailability of the site. Our responsibility for the professional services we provide to you is a separate matter, governed by the terms of business we agree with you and by the law that applies to our regulated activity as an insurance broker.

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site, are governed by the laws of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius have jurisdiction.

If something has gone wrong, our complaints procedure explains how to raise it with us and, if we cannot resolve it, how to escalate it to the Office of Ombudsperson for Financial Services.

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top of the page tells you when it was last changed. Please check it periodically.
